Building an intrinsically accessible website for a mindfulness practice in Luxembourg

Due to the stressful and hectic nature of contemporary society, mindfulness is a vital tool for achieving inner peace and well-being. Luxembourg-based mindfulness coach and teacher – Berenice Boxler – provides a safe and supportive space for individuals to cultivate a greater sense of awareness, compassion, and resilience in the face of challenges.

Berenice wanted to improve her online presence and make her website more accessible to all users. We redesigned the website and applied our best practices to ensure that it met accessibility standards. The work was done with a certification to prove it. Not only did this certification give Berenice peace of mind, but it also demonstrated her dedication to inclusivity.

Visual Concept & Website

Our team recommended a platform with a more intuitive content management system that provided greater flexibility and control over the website's design and functionality. We worked closely with Berenice to understand her needs and goals for the website, and tailored the design to meet her specific requirements.

The client's new website is now a peaceful online sanctuary that offers resources for mindfulness and meditation. We designed the website to be both visually stunning and user-friendly, with features like blog posts, course registration, and guided meditation playlists.

Web Accessibility & Certification

We provided extensive web accessibility services to ensure that the Being Mindful website was inclusive and accessible to all. This included an in-depth accessibility audit, design adjustments, and the incorporation of an overlay modal that serves as a friendly reminder of the site's accessibility features and provides a link for visitors to leave feedback.

Additionally, we crafted a comprehensive accessibility statement that detailed adherence to the success criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Web Accessibility certification was the final step, which provided her with a sense of reassurance and exemplified the commitment to inclusivity.

The Result

The result of our work was a modern and accessible website that better reflected Berenice's brand and values. She was thrilled with the new design and the increased control she had over the website's content. With our help, she was able to focus on what she does best - teaching mindfulness - while we took care of the technical details. The website redesign helped Berenice expand her reach and connect with a wider audience, ultimately leading to increased engagement and revenue for her business.
